The traditional seven-day summer tourism event “Lavender Days” was held in Moravice from July 7 to 13, once again attracting a large number of visitors this year.

The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Rijeka, Ivana Stojiljković, attended the closing day of the festival, whose program included a visit to the Church of St. George in Dokmanovići, a tour of the local product fair featuring goods from regional producers, and a classical music concert held in a lavender field.

At the invitation of priest Jelenko Stojanović, the Consul General previously visited the parish house, where she met with the priest and Milan Vukelić, President of the Council for National Minorities, to discuss current issues in the Municipality of Vrbovsko.

The program continued with a visit to the Church of St. George, where priest Stojanović gave a lecture before a large audience of locals and guests from Bjelovar, presenting the history and significance of the church. This was followed by an address from Mr. Vukelić, who spoke about the development of Moravice, particularly highlighting the town’s importance as a key railway hub.

During the tour of the fair, visitors had the opportunity to see and sample authentic products from local artisans and farmers, including a variety of lavender-based goods. The final event of the evening was a classical music concert held under the open sky, in a unique lavender field setting, with the audience seated on hay bales.

Following the concert, a social gathering was held featuring traditional food and drink tastings, reaffirming the festival’s significance in promoting local culture, traditions, and identity.
