Reception for Representatives of Serbian Organizations and Associations in Rijeka
The reception was attended by Zoran Stanković, President of the Council of the Serbian National Minority of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County; Damir Radović, President of the Rijeka Branch of the Serbian Cultural Society “Prosvjeta”; Milan Popadić, President of the Serbian Community in Rijeka; Anđa Jotanović, representative of the Council of the Serbian National Minority of the City of Rijeka; and Maja Musulin, Secretary of the County Council.
In her welcoming address, Consul General Stojiljković introduced herself and presented her professional background, with a particular emphasis on the experience gained during her mandate in Trieste. She expressed full commitment to strengthening cooperation with Serbian organizations in Rijeka and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, as well as the Consulate General’s readiness to support activities aimed at preserving Serbian identity, language, culture, and tradition, within the scope of its competencies.
The Consul General particularly emphasized the importance of constructing the Serbian Cultural Center in Rijeka, describing it as a project of essential significance for the Serbian community in this part of the Republic of Croatia. She expressed her belief that this institution will further strengthen the work of all actors within the Serbian community and serve as an open space for cultural exchange and dialogue in a broader social context.
Representatives of Serbian organizations and associations presented their activities from the recent period and outlined their plans for future work, with both sides expressing a clear readiness to continue intensive cooperation with the Consulate General.
